| The Phoenix Adolescent Outpatient Program provides group and individual therapy for individuals and families. Shortest term of care ranges from a 2 hour assessment to several weeks of outpatient treatment to 24 weeks of outpatient treatment consisting of approximately 5 - 6 hours per week.
Therapeutic methods include 12 step work, cognitive behavioral counseling, motivational enhancement techniques, education on health, safety, family issues, diet, nutrition and exercise suggestions, behavioral goal setting and discussion. Occasionally an educational video may be shown to make a point concerning an issue considered relevant to the group process. Weekly psychological consultation is conducted with a licensed psychologist and counseling staff where individual cases are discussed as well as education on mental health issues provided to staff.
Treatment services include the following:
- Individual and group counseling to help the client identify and address problems related to chemical use, relapse, and develop strategies to avoid inappropriate chemical use after discharge.
- Client education strategies to avoid inappropriate chemical use and health problems with a focus on relapse-prevention.
- Transition services.
- Services to address issues related to co-occurring mental health issues.
Treatment services will be provided according to the individual treatment plan and will be respectful of the cultural differences, gender and special needs of all clients.
